Chinese education system has an impact on all generations in the country. It was reported that 96 years old grandmother queued for nine days and eight nights to secure her great-grandson's enrolment in a Beijing Kindergarten. She was one of more than 100 people who were already in the queue pre-dawn on 1 June to wait for the kindergarten to begin accepting applications. This grandmother obviously values good education, but one wonders what made her go this far.
